The East Midland Combined County Authority (EMCCA) has set up the Mayor’s Community Development Fund to fund community led projects that involve local people in planning and delivery.
More than £3 million is available over the next three years, and the primary focus of the the fund is providing support to areas within the EMCCA region that face the both high levels of deprivation, lack of community engagement, and limited access to grant funding.
The fund is only open to organisations based in or working to support one of the following ten priority areas:
- Arboretum – Derby City
- Bestwood – Nottingham City
- Cotmanhay – Erewash, Derbyshire
- Dales – Nottingham City
- Gamesley – High Peak, Derbyshire
- Leamington – Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
- Normanton – Derby City
- Shirebrook North – Bolsover, Derbyshire
- Market Warsop – Mansfield, Nottinghamshire
- Worksop South-East – Bassetlaw, Nottinghams
Funds awarded can be used to:
- improve community spaces
- create skills and employment hubs
- support health and wellbeing
- promote heritage and culture
- build community resilience
- help new groups to get started.
The deadline for applications is Monday 24th November at 5pm.
