GSK Community Health Programme

Active Derbyshire, Active Notts, Funding, News

The GSK Community Health Programme is a national funding and leadership development initiative delivered by GSK in partnership with The King’s Fund. The programme is designed to support small charities that are tackling health inequalities within disadvantaged and under-served communities. It recognises the vital role that grassroots organisations play in improving health outcomes and wellbeing, particularly where people face barriers relating to poverty, disability, ethnicity, housing, social exclusion or access to healthcare.

The programme is aimed at registered charities that have been operating for at least one year and have an annual income between £20,000 and £150,000.

Successful applicants can receive up to £10,000 of unrestricted funding, allowing organisations to use the grant where it is most needed. In addition, funded charities gain access to an online leadership development programme delivered by The King’s Fund, valued at £5,000 per participant. This combination of financial support and leadership training helps organisations strengthen their impact, sustainability and long-term growth.

The programme particularly encourages applications from organisations led by, or supporting, communities experiencing the greatest health inequalities, including ethnic minority communities, people with disabilities and other marginalised groups. Funding can support a wide range of activities that improve physical health, mental wellbeing, access to healthcare services, healthy lifestyles and community resilience.

Applications are assessed on the impact of the organisation’s overall work rather than on a single project, with a focus on charities that can demonstrate meaningful outcomes and strong community engagement. Up to ten charities will be selected to receive funding and leadership support.

The deadline for applications is 10th August 2026.
