The Queen Elizabeth Trust, a new UK-wide independent charity, now supports communities across the United Kingdom. It marks 100 years since Queen Elizabeth II’s birth. The Trust honours her service and brings people together. It will focus on restoring shared spaces that unite communities and will work directly with local people.
The government will give the Trust a one-off £40 million endowment. This funding will support local projects with public value. It will also help the charity raise future funds.
Projects could transform underused buildings, green spaces and could also create neighbourhood hubs. They may fund support to communities to ensure they have access to skills and training to deliver local events.
The Trust has not published funding criteria or application details yet. It will share more information in the coming months.
