Nottinghamshire’s Local Communities Fund (LCF)

Active Notts, Funding, News

The Local Communities Fund is open for applications and will close on Friday 7th November 2025.

The Local Communities Fund aims to support projects that help to deliver the strategic aims of the County Council Nottinghamshire Plan Vision and Ambitions.

The funding is limited, and competition is likely to be strong, therefore the County Council may also take into consideration previous funding awards. Priority will be given to applications that best meet the criteria and organisations that did not receive an award in the previous funding year.

The Local Communities Fund consists of:

Capital Funding

The Capital Grants Fund is designed to support the improvement of community facilities and the purchase of assets that enhance community access and promote health and wellbeing.

  • Eligible organisations may apply for one-off capital grants of up to £20,000 per organisation within any given funding year. Successful applicants will be offered a 12-month funding agreement.
  • Successful applicants of capital grants over £5,000 will be paid in two instalments. The first 75% of funding will be provided up front, and the final 25% will be provided once the project has been finalised and all monitoring requirements have been completed.

Revenue Funding

Eligible organisations may apply for one-off revenue grants of up to £5,000 per organisation within any given funding year. Priority will be given to projects that include:

  • deliver school holiday play schemes
  • enable residents to engage in social and cultural opportunities
  • encourage innovation to strengthen communities and support vulnerable individuals
  • address climate and environmental challenges
  • improve mental and physical health
  • reduce loneliness and social isolation
  • provide early help and preventative support.

Match funding is required.
