Nottingham City Council has recently secured Levelling Up funding to support community and voluntary organisations develop inclusive, regular, and high quality community activities in Bulwell and Bulwell Forest, with a focus on strengthening communities.
Grants between £5,000 and £14,000 in capital funding can be used for small-scale improvements, equipment, or practical infrastructure that enables new or improved community activity.
The fund supports projects that:
- increase participation in community events and activities
- celebrate Bulwell’s history and heritage
- deliver creative activities such as arts, crafts, music, or performance
- promote and celebrate cultural diversity in the area
- strengthen community connections and bring people together
- engage people who are isolated, excluded, or face barriers to participation
- increase use of local community buildings and facilities
- create volunteering opportunities for local residents.
The overall aim of the fund is to support stronger, more connected communities by enabling organisations to expand their reach, improve engagement, and deliver activities that reflect local needs and priorities in Bulwell and Bulwell Forest.
