Delivered by the National Garden Scheme, the Community Gardens Award provides grants of £1,500 and £5,000 for gardening projects carried out by charities and CICs within local communities.
The scheme is committed to funding projects that ensure sustainability in gardening (using peat-free compost, for example), and celebrate biodiversity and wildlife. Applicant proposals should aim to demonstrate that they share these commitments.
Funds awarded can be used for the purchase/acquisition of [but not limited to]:
- plants and containers
- materials for flower or vegetable beds and other hard landscaping
- greenhouses, polytunnels, and sheds
- seating
- hand tools and certain garden power tools (such as strimmers)
- materials for providing refreshment.
Please be aware that only the first 300 eligible submissions will be considered for grant funding.
The programme will open for applications from Monday 15th September 2025, and will close on 20th October at 12:00pm noon.
