Erewash Borough Council has allocated funding to Community Grant Schemes running from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2028*.
Erewash Borough Council has allocated the following funding to each Community Grant Scheme:
£40,000 per financial year (for 2026/27 and 2027/28) for Fast Funding Grants
£25,000 per financial year (for 2026/27 and 2027/28) for Member Grants
£300,000 over 2026/27 and 2027/28 for VCS Sustainability & Activation Grants.
* The council will publish any changes to these schemes on its website.

Grants for £500 to £1,500 – Fast Funding Grants
You can apply for between £500 and £1,500 from the Fast Funding Grant Scheme.
Aims of the funding
Erewash Borough Council is working to create vibrant and sustainable communities. Applicants should explain how their activity or project supports at least one of the following priorities from the Corporate Strategy 2024-2028:
• Economy and regeneration – rejuvenating the economy.
• Supporting communities – helping communities to be active, healthy and safe.
• Sustainable environment – creating an environment for the future.
Who can apply for funding?
Voluntary and community sector (VCS) groups and organisations can apply for Fast Funding Grants. This includes registered charities and social enterprises. Applicants must check the Community Grants Policy 2025-2028 to confirm that they meet the definition of a ‘qualifying organisation’.
What can the funding be used for?
Only groups or organisations that work in Erewash and support Erewash residents can apply for funding.
For Fast Funding Grants, the council will prioritise revenue costs. You can find more information on the council’s website.
How and when can I apply for a Fast Funding Grant?
Please complete the application form on the council’s website at https://www.erewash.gov.uk/community-support/community-grants-2026-27
You can submit applications throughout the year until the closing date:
For 2026-27: Open until 28 February 2027*, or until the council has allocated the funding.
For 2027-28: Open until 28 February 2028*, or until the council has allocated the funding.

The scheme may remain open later if funding has not been allocated by the closing date. The council will publish any changes on its website.
How much can I be awarded?
The Community Grants Panel may award any amount up to the total requested. This means the Panel may award none, some, or all the requested amount.Where relevant and appropriate, the Community Grants Panel may add funding conditions to the award. The Panel may release some or all the funding once it receives evidence of other activity.The Community Grants Panel’s decisions are final, and applicants cannot appeal them.
I want to apply for between £2,000 and £3,500 – Member Grants
Please note: This scheme is currently closed because the council has allocated all available funding. If the council allocates additional funding, the scheme may reopen during 2026/27. I want to apply for between £5,000 to £50,000 – VCS Sustainability & Activation Grants
Erewash Borough Council has allocated funding to community grant schemes running from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2028. This includes £300,000 across 2026/27 and 2027/28 for the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) Sustainability & Activation Grant scheme.
Voluntary and community groups or organisations can apply for the VCS Sustainability & Activation Grant scheme. This includes registered charities, Community Interest Companies and social enterprises.
Organisations and groups must meet the definition of a ‘qualifying organisation’ in the Community Grants Policy 2025-2028.
How much can I apply for through a VCS Sustainability & Activation Grant?
You can apply for between £5,000 and £50,000 from the VCS Sustainability & Activation Grant Scheme.
What can the funding be used for?
Erewash Community Grants are only available to groups or organisations that work in Erewash and support Erewash residents.
Groups and organisations can use VCS Sustainability & Activation Grants to support different needs. The Sustainability funding can help cover infrastructure costs. Activation funding can help an organisation set up and deliver a new, innovative project or activity.

How can I apply for a VCS Sustainability & Activation Grant?
Round 1 of the application windows has now closed. The next round will open on 1 August 2026.
You can submit applications during four application windows, which start on the first day of the month and end on the last day of the month:
Round 1: May 2026 – THIS ROUND HAS NOW CLOSED.
Round 2: August 2026
Round 3: November 2026
Round 4: March 2027
