The Dan Maskell Tennis Trust helps people with disabilities play tennis by offering small grants which includes wheelchairs, tennis equipment and coaching.
Grants of up to £1,600 (and individuals can apply for up to £600) are available for Groups, Clubs and projects.
Disability groups and programmes, clubs, schools, associations and individuals are eligible to apply.
The Trust offers wheelchair support through separate routes for organisations and individuals. Groups, clubs and projects can apply for one or more tennis wheelchairs for general grass roots use. Applicants are required to make a contribution towards the chair, and the Trust provides a grant towards the remaining cost based on the eligible models listed on its website.
Individuals who play wheelchair tennis can apply for one of four wheelchair types and must raise a contribution that varies by chair type. If an applicant requests an alternative wheelchair, the Trust may award a grant, and the applicant must order and pay the supplier directly.
The Trust can also offer equipment packages and orders and pays for them before delivery to a specified address. Packages can include rackets, balls, mini nets and coaching aids such as cones and throw-down marker lines, and visually impaired groups can request sound balls.
The Trust further supports groups, clubs and projects that want to start or maintain disability tennis activity by funding court hire, coaching fees and equipment. Individuals can apply for items such as rackets, strings, tape and gloves, as well as coaching lessons with an LTA Licensed coach and course fees for official LTA Development or Coaching courses.
The Trust runs four application rounds each year.
The Trust will accept the next applications until 3 August 2026.
