Government’s £1.7m Common Ground Award Opens for Applications

Active Derbyshire, Active Notts, Funding, News

The Ministry of Housing, Communities, and Local Government has opened a brand new capital grants fund, awarding funding of up to £10,000 to VCSE organisations that work to bring people from different backgrounds together.

Funding can be used to support the costs of constructing, renovating and expanding facilities, along with the purchasing of equipment to deliver services, such as laptops or furniture.

The aim of the fund is to:

  • identify and reward good practice in building and bridging social capital
  • invest in physical spaces and equipment that enables good practice
  • build a community that can share knowledge across the VCSE sector and with government.

The deadline for applications is Friday 21st November 2025, and funding will be awarded in January 2026.
