Funding for community managed projects along the traffic-free section of the NCN is now available.
Constituted community groups (non-constituted groups, organisations and individuals may also be considered) can apply now for a standard grant of up to £2,500 or if their project shows significantly increased outcomes could receive a grant of up to £6,000.
All ArtRoots projects must take place on a traffic-free section of the National Cycle Network (NCN) or be immediately visible from or adjacent to the NCN, such as on a connecting ramp.
Projects can include work that improves a sense of safety, belonging and local identity along the route, not only decorative or standalone artworks.
Examples of what could be funded include, but are not limited to:
- Sculptures, murals, and mosaics,
- Benches and seating,
- Decorative signage,
- Planters and plant pots,
- And many more.
There is a two-stage application process.
The deadline for Expressions of Interest is 31 August 2026.
