Who Can Apply
Eligible organisations include:
- Voluntary and community groups and charities
- Parish Meeting and Town Councils
- Social enterprises and Community Interest Companies (non-profit distributing)
- Schools and educational establishments
- National organisations demonstrating local impact and partnership working.
All applicants must have a written constitution or governing document and a bank or building society account.
What Can Be Funded
Projects must meet at least one of the following themes:
- Community buildings and facilities improvements – village halls, community centres, museums, heritage centres
- Community activities and services – health and wellbeing, social isolation, community cohesion projects
- Environmental and green initiatives – habitat conservation, community growing schemes, public park improvements
- Sports, recreation and play – playground equipment, sports facilities, drainage projects
- Educational projects – after school clubs, training courses, outdoor classrooms (additional to statutory core costs)
- Individual grants – where circumstances allow, supporting talent development, education access, apprenticeships
The fund encourages projects incorporating sustainability elements, such as renewable energy sources, energy reduction, and use of sustainable materials.
Key Information
- Match funding is encouraged but not essential
- Both capital and revenue costs can be funded, including salaries and core costs
- A local committee will be established to allocate funds to projects meeting the criteria
- Projects must be located within the Halloughton area of benefit
What Cannot Be Funded
The fund will not support commercial organisations, statutory duties, party political campaigns, religious-focused projects, or retrospective funding for works already completed.
