The National Deaf Children’s Society has grants between £1,000 and £10,000 available for charities, CICs, and not-for-profit organisations to deliver projects supporting early years deaf children and their families.
Focusing on children between 0 and 5 during this funding cycle allows The National Deaf Children’s Society to provide support for families during the first few years when they are still finding out what their child needs.
In addition to supporting early years children, The Community Grants programme will support projects such as play schemes, peer-to-peer support for parents, and role model training for older children to mentor younger children.
Proposed projects should aim to deliver at least one of the following objectives:
- Family support
- Deaf community connection
- Communication development
- Professional capacity
Each grant is for a 12 month period and is intended to cover the essential running costs of a project, such as venue hire, transport, promotional costs, wages for workers, and equipment.
Applications can be made at any time.
