An Impact and Learning report which highlights the background, approach and progress of All Move in Erewash (AMiE) has been published.
AMiE is a partnership initiative between local services, organisations and people with lived experience. The aim is to make everyday movement more accessible and fair for people living with a limiting illness, long-term condition, or disability, and support people to move more in ways that work for them.
The report says that over the last 18 months AMiE has made significant progress in creating a more connected and collaborative physical activity system in Erewash.
It says the collective partnership (whole systems) approach of AMiE has helped to shift stakeholders’ attitudes and beliefs around supporting people with long-term conditions and disabilities to move more.
It also outlines key recommendations to move forwards based on what has been learnt.
The recommendations provide a solution in shifting to collaborative working where all parts of the system work collectively towards a common goal. Continuing this systemic approach is crucial for change to take place.
It says there are five shifts local decision makers can set in motion to tackle inactivity, support people with long-term conditions and get everyone in Erewash moving. These are:
- Deliver clear consistent messaging
- Workforce development
- Connecting the system
- Creating accessible and inclusive spaces
- Test and Learn pilots

The film below also explains how AMiE has taken a systemic approach by working closely with a range of partners and stakeholders. It also shows how AMiE is listening to residents, highlighting the important role that people with lived experience have played in shaping AMiE. Finally, it shows how AMiE is helping to upskill the workforce to influence the wider system.
