The Department for Health and Social Care is joining forces with People’s Health Trust and Movember to support community-led men’s mental health projects provide practical support around social and economic pressures, improve mental health, and reduce isolation.

Grants awarded from the £6.3 million pot will help deliver projects that support men and boys aged 16 or older. The fund seeks to support men during key moments of their lives such as the transition to fatherhood, job loss, or retirement – including challenges related to mental health, housing, family relationships, and finances.

The The Men’s Health Community Fund has a focus on supporting projects being delivered in high areas of deprivation and alongside delivering support, the programme will identify what works best and share proven approaches, so successful projects can be expanded and replicated across the country, with the goal of reducing inequalities.

Applications are expected to open in the summer, with the first lot of awards granted this winter.
