Nottingham Place Partnership Neighbourhood Lead

Active Partners Trust

We’re looking for a Neighbourhood Lead to play a vital role in strengthening local capacity across the Nottingham Place Partnership’s priority areas. Through engagement, facilitation, and coordination, the Neighbourhood Lead will ensure that local voices and lived experience shape services, investment decisions, programme development, and workforce approaches across Nottingham City. Building strong, collaborative partnerships with sporting organisations, voluntary sector partners and local statutory bodies in the priority areas of Bilbrough, Bestwood and Cinderhill, Beechdale, Aspley, St Ann’s, and Clifton will allow the Neighbourhood Lead to gain an understanding of the people who live there, the organisations that work there, and how being active does or doesn’t fit in. At the heart of Place Partnership work in Nottingham is our shared vision: ‘children, young people, and families in Nottingham feel connected and confident to move in ways that fit their lives and improves their health and wellbeing.’ The Neighbourhood Lead will be comfortable and confident in advocating for this vision, and will help local organisations develop their workforce to deliver sport and physical activity, with our shared vision in mind.   About Active Partners Trust We are Active Partners Trust (Active Derbyshire and Active Notts) and we’re here to empower people to be active in a way that works for them. We do that by working with others to address inequality and sharing opportunities and ways to move more. We’re part of the network of Active Partnerships covering the whole of England and supported by Sport England. We work with many organisations and groups across our cities and counties to support and empower our communities. Find out more about working for Active Partners Trust. Our Application Process Our application process is through Be Applied. It’s a recruitment platform that helps us remove unconscious bias from our shortlisting process. Once you’ve digested the Job Description you will be asked 4 questions that form your application alongside your CV – this is what you’ll be assessed on. We encourage you to make the most of these questions and make your answers personal to you rather than defaulting to AI. Your CV will be looked at alongside your application questions, please note any personal details will be removed to help keep candidates anonymous. As part of our application process, we collect data about the ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, social mobility and other protected characteristics of the candidates who apply for roles with us. We only see this data at the end of hiring cycles in anonymised reports generated by the Applied platform. We assess candidates blindly and anonymously; diversity data submitted with applications is not available for us to view. Answers to questions requesting diversity information do not impact our shortlisting processes. We encourage people to join our organisation from all walks of life, you don’t need experience in the sport and physical activity sector to work for us. Disabled people and those from culturally and ethnically diverse communities are underrepresented in our workforce and are particularly encouraged to apply. This post is funded by Sport England Lottery Fund.

If you want to find out more about the role to help you decide whether to apply, you are welcome to email Helen Davis at recruitment@activepartnerstrust.org.uk or give her a call on 07771 885 590 for a quick chat.
