This is a key appointment, and you will be responsible for leading the effective
management of the Portland Centre workforce and ensuring the effective provision
of community facilities, whilst maximising profit from commercial activities and
always maintaining legal compliance to an exceptional standard.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
• To undertake the efficient and effective management of the Portland Centre
and lead by example.
• To ensure the maximum income at facilities through the development of the
centre to meet the needs of the community.
• To ensure the continued improvement of the centre through developing
facilities and organising new fitness programmes
• To be responsible for all members of staff under their control. Ensuring high
standards of services and care, deliver performance appraisals for all centre
staff.
• To develop effective internal communication mechanisms which engage
members and staff.
• To be responsible for the health and safety of all customers, staff and
contractors.
• To lead the team in ensuring regulatory compliance within the centre and its
operation
• Developing and maintaining effective relationships with local key
stakeholders.
• To ensure that the team are maximising on all sales opportunities and are
motivated to do so.
• To work with the Marketing team to be proactive in the development,
marketing and promotion of the facilities in order to satisfy all relevant targets
and business needs.
• Establish appropriate quality and performance evaluation processes to
measure effectiveness and sustainability of all centre areas
• Contribute to market/industry trends research and promotional activity in
support of new programmes and initiatives
• Provide information and reports to the SLT on a monthly basis.
• Demonstrate an ability to think on feet and analyse problems and determine
appropriate action.
• Nurturing a culture of excellent customer service within the staff team
• Manage the buying and selling of stock to maximise profit on goods.

People Management Key Tasks
• Effectively manage and lead the Centre staff for whom you may be
responsible, including casual workers.
• Lead team meetings with the Centre staff and ensure effective flows of
information between the team.
• To carry out all quarterly reviews with all Duty Managers and Coordinators
• Identify training needs to ensure the competencies of those staff for whom
you are responsible are continually developed.
• Ensure the Duty Managers and Coordinators receive monthly 1 to 1’s and
have clear targets to achieve throughout the year.
• Sign off the timesheets for monthly payroll and annual leave information
• Ensure Duty Managers and Coordinators have individual development plans
and monitor performance against these.

Financial Key Tasks
• To establish financial and other resource needs for centre growth and
improvement
• To achieve financial and performance targets set by the CFO
• Manage money handling processes and ensure secure procedure for weekly
takings.
• Manage own budget, including recording and reporting all income and
expenditure.
• Ensure all staff timesheets and Salary information are completed in full and
submitted to the Business Team in time.

Health & Safety Key Tasks
• To comply with requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and all
supplementary legislation
• To ensure all health and safety checks are completed on a weekly/monthly
basis were necessary, to review EAP, NOP and RA on a yearly basis or as
equipment/ procedures change.

Training Key Tasks
• To attend regular staff training sessions, be they held in-house or externally
• To maintain and develop own professional knowledge and awareness.
• To undertake any other duties and responsibilities required to,
commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility for the post.
• Ensure safeguarding is embedded within the Organisation
• Promote the activities of NCF
• To support the delivery of other key areas of the business as required.

General Duties
• Monitor local competitor activity, identifying their pricing structures and
refurbishment plans business levels and promotions.
• To attend and contribute to regular staff meetings
• To participate in the all staff NCF appraisal and supervision process
• To follow by NCF policies and procedures at all times including Health
and Safety, Equal Opportunities and Confidentiality
• To always act as an ambassador for Notts County Foundation.
• To undertake any other duties that may be required as deemed
appropriate.
