Community Group Mentor

Jog Derbyshire

To provide mentoring, guidance, and practical in-person and virtual support to community-based physical activity group leaders and act as an enabler, helping groups to deliver safe, enjoyable, and engaging activities that attract and retain participants. The role actively encourages engagement, collaboration, and sharing of best practice across groups and demonstrates the benefits of being part of a wider, connected community. The post holder will play a key role in ensuring that the organisations strategy and values are understood and embedded across the network. Duties: *Carry out regular visits to Jog Derbyshire groups to support them in continually developing and improving their activities for the benefit of participants. *Mentor and support activity leaders in their personal development and the growth of their group. *Provide support and guidance to enable groups to adhere to all relevant legal, industry and organisational compliance requirements. *Encourage and facilitate collaboration and mutual support across groups delivering physical activity. *Help identify, share, and demonstrate best practice in delivering safe, welcoming and effective sessions, and managing community groups. *Proactively identify opportunities for new groups and provide guidance and support to help them get established. *Deliver training, including Jog Derbyshire Co-Leader training, and identify further opportunities for leaders and volunteers development, training and skill building. *Create and maintain practical support materials including session ideas, how-to guides, and online resources. Requirements: *Proven experience working with groups or clubs. *Background in Run Coaching is highly desirable. *Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse groups of individuals. *Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information and support. *A genuine passion for educating and empowering youth through mentorship. *Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in various situations.
