Online NSPCC safeguarding adult’s forum

Our next safeguarding forum meeting is taking place on Wednesday 12th March at 10am. We will be joined by Kevyn Murphy, Safeguarding in Sport Lead at the NWG who will be sharing with us information about the Bystander project and how this could support your organisation.
In addition, we have our sector update, , organisational update as well as had a request from Catherine Hughes, CEO British Nordic Walking to ask how other umbrella sports organisations are undertaking DBS checks for instructors/leaders. For example, is this the responsibility of the NGB local business/ sole trader, individual or of the venues that the instructors might be running sessions? We would like to dedicate some of the forum meeting to discuss this so that we can explore what each of us are doing and the difficulties/challenges faced. Once we have collated the information, we have invited the DBS to attend our June In-Person meeting so that we can have roundtable focused session on it.
