Franky, Derbyshire Sports Welfare Lead, will be running a free face to face Neurodiversity in Sport training session on:

Date: Thursday 10th September 2026

Time: 6:30pm-8pm (there will be snacks and this will be held in the club house – with a bar for drinks)

Venue: Ilkeston Town Football Club, New Manor Ground, Awsworth Road, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, DE7 8JF

This will be relevant to all sports, the content delivered will cover:

Neurodiversity in a sporting context – what it means and why it matters.
Traits vs labels – understanding a traits-based approach.
The Behavioural Iceberg – a framework to support inclusive coaching design. Identifying traits in practice – how they manifest on the ground.
Traits and environment – exploring sensory differences, executive functioning, and social/communication differences.
Practical strategies and tips to support neurodivergent individuals across various environments.
