With the help of shoppers across the UK, Waitrose has been able to donate over £50 million to charities and good causes through their Community Matters Fund.
Community Matters is focused on bringing people together, countering social isolation, and fostering connection. Projects the fund has supported include:
- shared gardens
- community cooking classes
- lunch clubs for seniors.
You can get involved by collecting green tokens at the checkout and using them to vote for one of three options at the token unit. Waitrose then donates £1,500 to the project with the most votes, then £1,000, and £500 to the project with the fewest votes.
