Embedding safeguarding in our place work
As part of our commitment to responsible funding and the promotion of safe, inclusive environments, we undertake quality assurance processes with all organisations we support. This includes exploring safeguarding policies, procedures, and practices within your organisation.
We recognise the vital role that sports clubs and community or voluntary groups play in supporting the wellbeing, development, and inclusion of both children and adults. With this role comes a shared responsibility to ensure that all individuals who engage with your provision are safe, treated with dignity and respect, and feel confident that their voices will be heard.
The purpose of this quality assurance process is not only to ensure compliance with safeguarding standards, but also to support continuous improvement and good practice. By asking these questions, we aim to better understand how safeguarding is embedded within your organisation, how risks are managed, and how concerns are identified, reported, and addressed.
As a funding body, we have a duty of care to ensure that the organisations we invest in are equipped to provide safe and supportive environments. This includes ensuring that appropriate safeguarding measures are in place, understood by staff and volunteers, and consistently applied in practice.
We approach this process as a collaborative exercise and encourage openness and reflection. Our intention is to work in partnership with you to strengthen safeguarding arrangements where needed and to recognise and share effective practice.
