Place Lead

Active Partners Trust

Do you have a passion for working with different communities and people, to enable residents to move more? Are you passionate about equity and diversity and want to see people leading active lives in our communities?   Can you listen to what residents want and need? Can you work in partnership with organisations and help them embed a culture of physical activity into their work? If so, we’d love to hear from you. As one of 43 Active Partnerships (APs) across England, Active Partners Trust (APT), working in Derbyshire and Notts, teams up with local councils, community groups, businesses, healthcare organisations, charities and more to find out what’s needed to empower people to move more. Making our Move – Our shared vision for Uniting the Movement in Notts and Derbyshire is a new plan to guide our and partners’ work over the next 10 years – where we work and how we work. As a Place Lead you will have key role in supporting the delivery of this vision. Your focus will be the areas of Amber Valley and High Peak in Derbyshire. You will work with our communities experiencing the greatest inequalities in these two districts, to understand the people who live there, the people and organisations that work there and how being active, does or doesn’t fit in. You will identify and support new and current leaders, within neighbourhoods, communities and partners, who have the opportunity and ability to influence or help other people to be more active. You will use this insight and learning to work alongside residents and organisations to develop new, or support existing activities and behaviours, to encourage people in these communities to move more. This will include working out, with residents and community partners, how national and local programmes can support the needs in the place. We are looking for someone to join us who: • Believes in the value of physical activity • Believes in our values and behaviours • Is committed to reducing inequalities in physical activity and understands that some communities need more support. • Is able to build strong working relationships with people and partners APT aims to be a diverse, inclusive organisation that values lived experience and is reflective of the communities we work with. We welcome applications from people with diverse experiences and backgrounds. Working for Active Partners Trust, you will be part of a small friendly team with the following benefits; – Flexible office and hybrid working – Healthy work/life balance – Generous holiday allowance – Attractive pension scheme – Substantial training and personal development opportunities Please ensure you download and read the attached Job Description before applying. This role, for the first 6 months is office based using hot desk facilities in  Derby, Sheffield or Nottingham city centres and remote working in Amber Valley and High Peak.  After 6 months – option to be office based or on a hybrid contract (1 day per week (pw) in office, 2 days pw from home).
