Based in the village of Brinsley in Nottinghamshire, we see the club as part of the local community adding character to the local scene and offering social and physical opportunities to the people in the village and surrounding areas.
The club currently is made up of 22 members all of whom are of retirement age. Although people of a more senior age are attracted to the sport of bowls we do welcome people of all ages. Although we play bowls competitively, we see the social side of the club to be equally, if not more important than the sporting side. Bowls being the common denominator.
We believe bowls makes a positive impact on people’s health and well being. Helping people to live longer, healthier and more fulfilling lives
It provides:
Fitness –helps moderately improve muscle strength , flexibility and endurance.
Mental Health – gets people out into the fresh air and helps alleviate depression and anxiety.
Increases Skills – some element of problem solving skills and also helps improve co-ordination and concentration

.Social Interaction –improve social skills and being part of a team also gives people a sense of belonging.
Bowls can help people to live longer, healthier and have more fulfilling lives.
