The National Garden Scheme, supported by the Julia Rausing Trust, offers Community Gardens Award grants of £1,500 or £5,000 for local gardening projects. Those projects that support biodiversity and wildlife will receive positive consideration.
Groups can use the funding for plants and containers; materials for flower or vegetable beds and hard landscaping; greenhouses, polytunnels and sheds; seating; hand tools and certain garden power tools, such as strimmer’s; and materials for refreshments.
Fully established community groups, registered charities and Community Interest Companies can apply through a two-part process. The scheme will consider only the first 300 eligible submissions.
Applications are expected to open on 29 September 2026 and close on 30 October 2026.
