AI and how it can support organisations to identify grants and apply for them

Qlic IT in association with Charity Digital have shared a useful session on YouTube on how AI can support not for profit organisations identify grant funds and then applying to them.  Click here to view the short 25 minute video.

More than a third of charities (36%) are currently using AI to support their grant fundraising, according to the 2025 Charity Digital Skills report.  However, that means that more than three in five charities are missing out on the advantages that AI can bring to grant funding.

Although AI has made grant funding more competitive.  Applications that have obviously been written by AI may be more easily disqualified.  Always apply human oversight.  The human element, with relatable stories and relevant insight, makes an application meaningful and authentic.  Ultimately, anything generated by AI should be your first draft, not the final version.

It’s not just about the help it can give when writing a draft application, AI can also help charities and community organisations locate and find relevant grant funds.  This can save research time.  And, if used correctly, can improve the chances of success by targeting funds that specifically link to relevant needs and criteria.
