Meet the Funder: The National Lottery Community Fund – South Derbyshire – 17th June

Active Derbyshire, Funding, News

Vijay Kumari, Funding Officer for The National Lottery Community Fund (NLCF), will be giving a presentation on their Awards for All and Reaching Communities funding programmes. There will be an opportunity to ask Vijay questions about funding and the application processes.

NLCF offer funding from £300 to £20,000 through their Awards for All programme.  They can support your project for up to two years through this programme.

You can apply for funding to deliver a new or existing activity or to support your organisation to change and adapt to new and future challenges.

The fund’s priorities are:

  • bring people together to build strong relationships in and across communities
  • improve the places and spaces that matter to communities
  • help more people to reach their potential, by supporting them at the earliest possible stage
  • support people, communities and organisations facing more demands and challenges because of the cost-of-living crisis.

There are no deadlines.  However, apply at least 16 weeks before you want to start the activities or spend any of the money.

The National Lottery Community Fund: Reaching Communities:

With this funding they can help strengthen communities and improve lives across England.  Their priority is the places, people and communities that need it most.

By ‘community’ they mean people living in the same area. Or people with similar interests or life experiences, even if they do not live in the same area.

Our priorities are to fund projects that:

  • support places, people or communities experiencing poverty, disadvantage or discrimination and
  • support people and communities to shape the decisions that affect their lives.

Your project must achieve one of their missions. These are to support communities to:

  • Come together, through inclusive places, spaces and activities (either physical or virtual). Especially for communities where people are least able to come together.
  • Help children and young people thrive, by developing positive social and emotional skills.
  • Be healthier, by addressing health inequalities. And helping prevent poor health.
  • Be environmentally sustainable. By engaging with climate issues and having a positive environmental impact. And improving access to quality natural spaces.

They are more likely to fund work that achieves one or two of these missions really well. For more see their priorities.

Funding starts at £20,001. But most applications  funded are for less than £500,000 in total.

This session will be online on Teams. The link to the session will be emailed to you closer to the date.

Tuesday 17th June 2025 11:00 – 12:00 noon.

Please note to attend this session your work must include residents of South Derbyshire
