Active Environment Network Online Workshop: Making Activity Spaces Safer for Women and Girls

This workshop will focus on the barriers to movement and physical activity that misogynistic behaviour creates for women and girls. We will hear from Dr Fatima Eltinay, Derbyshire Deputy Police & Crime Commissioner, Jayne Bacon, Head of Community at Chesterfield Football Club Community Trust, and other system partners about the impact of this behaviour. We’ll examine some of the work that is being undertaken to support the workforce to challenge behaviours and what we can do as system partners to expand this work.

The workshop is suitable for those working in parks, housing, community safety, health, education, sport, active travel, and voluntary sector who play a part in supporting women and girls to be able to move and be physically active and/or work with young men and want to support them to be allies in ensuring safe environments for women and girls.
