Active Partner Trust (APT) is the legal entity for Active Notts and Active Derbyshire. The registered office address is Derby Cubo, The Old Post Office, Victoria Street, Derby DE1 1EQ.

Resource award and duration

A limited number of Teach Active licenses, purchased by Active Notts and Active Derbyshire, are available – enabling access to the Teach Active Maths and English resources at www.teachactive.org for a year.

Licenses will be given on a first come, first served basis, and we will confirm if you have been allocated a license as soon as possible.

Usage Expectation

The resources support teachers to deliver active English and Maths lessons from Foundation to Y6. It is expected that schools maximise the investment and impact on their young people by utilising the resources across as many year groups as possible and/or focus on a particular cohort of young people facing greatest inequalities e.g. SEND.

If a school is unable to commit to using the resources then they should not activate their license and notify Active Notts/Active Derbyshire so it can be offered to another school. Whilst there is no commitment for the schools to invest in the resources beyond the year, it is hoped that the active lesson delivery approach will be embedded within the school and Maths and English will continue to be delivered in an active way (with or without the support of the Teach Active resources).

Evaluation

Understanding the impact of the approach will be key in levering further funding to help roll Teach Active out to a further number of schools. Please indicate by ticking the box below if you are interested in working with Nottingham Trent University (NTU) to understand the impact embedding Teach Active within lessons has on physical activity levels and winder benefits to be determined by the school. A short case study to understand any impact would be expected from schools not engaged with NTU.

Insurance

The school will have appropriate public liability, employer’s liability and professional indemnity insurance, for the lifetime of this agreement. These policies must cover all employees, apprentices, contractors, volunteers, participants, spectators, visitors involved in this work. On request you must provide Active Derbyshire/Active Notts with evidence of this insurance cover.

Safeguarding young people and adults at risk

The school will have valid Safeguarding policies and procedures in place to safeguard young people and or adults at risk when delivering all activities.
