Warm Welcomes: Heart of the neighborhood in Nuthall

News

On the 12th of September Active Notts were invited to join Paws at the Park in Nuthall to celebrate their two year anniversary. Paws at the Park is a Warm Welcome space in the community bringing people together.

Paws at the Park is a volunteer led community café founded and run by Alyson and Sue in Nuthall, the community cafe is significant in an area where there is limited amenities and space for people to come together. Many of the visitors are older adults and families in the area who come for social interactions and family walks.

Paws at the Park have recently received some funding from Rushcliffe CVS to incorporate more physical activity into existing and emerging Warm Spaces. With the funding they wanted to get people up and moving through music so bought a portable speaker and microphone to use for sing along sessions and at events.

They also would love to get some walking volunteers to lead some storytelling sessions for families to get them out and about in the community.

For many people Paws at the Park is where they can go for some company and support, thanks to the team of volunteers who have made it a welcoming space for the community. Its truly the heart of the community and the video captures how much Paws at the Park means to the people who live there.
