Yesterday, the Active Derbyshire and Active Notts teams were at Ilkeston Town Football Club for a team planning session.
Franky Boyland, the Sport Welfare Lead for Active Derbyshire shared something she saw quite a bit at the venue which is just an example of a small step all clubs can take to create a safer culture:
“I was very impressed to see posters and information cards raising awareness of various life issues that some people may want support with.
“Having information in toilets is such a great idea, people can read the information or pick up contact information discreetly, making them more inclined to access the service.
“I would also recommend always putting contact information inside the toilet or on the back of doors for easy accessibility and privacy….very few people in need will take information from a public notice board (although notice boards are great for sharing information).
“Little things can really help to build safer cultures.
“Well done Ilkeston Town Football Club….it was great to see!”
