Sport England’s Small Grants programme offers funding up to £15,000 for up to 12 months of new or additional physical activities / sports. The focus of the fund is tackling inequalities, particularly relating to people living within the most deprived areas of the country. Other priorities for the fund are:
“Sustainable activity while reducing the impact on the environment”. An example could involve purchasing locally made equipment to extend capacity in a club or using local community assets to minimise travel.
“The development of skills in young people”. This could include supporting young people through coaching qualifications or relevant sports administration courses, or trying new sessions to bring new participants into your club.
Edwina Archer, Funding Lead for Active Notts and Active Derbyshire has put together two short videos about the fund. The first is an overview of the fund’s key criteria. The second looks at the application, step by step, from the start to completion.
