Newark and Sherwood District Council have launched their 2025/2026 Community Grant Scheme. The grant scheme is open to community groups, charities and eligible parish councils from across the district. These groups have the chance to apply for up to £20,000 for projects and initiatives that will improve the lives of residents.
To be successful, applicants must demonstrate that the project:
- takes place within the district,
- that there is a local need for it and
- how it contributes to one or more of the District Council’s Community Plan Ambitions.
They must also include financial information to support the application.
Smaller Parish Councils that serve fewer than 100 dwellings are also now eligible to apply for funding.
Extra weighting will be given for projects whose applications can show they:
- Contribute to overcoming the cost-of-living crisis.
- Contribute to public protection by reducing crime or antisocial behaviour.
- Improve biodiversity or contribute to reducing climate change.
- Projects that can demonstrate match funding (above £5k).
Applications must be submitted by 5pm on Friday 9 May.
