New sport welfare roles for Derbyshire and Notts

Active Derbyshire, Active Notts, News, Support Others

Active Partners Trust has successfully applied to Sport England for funding to appoint two Sport Welfare Leads – one for Derbyshire and one for Nottinghamshire.

The Sport Welfare Leads will work with National Governing Bodies of Sport to promote good practice and safe sport in their local clubs. These roles will provide support with safeguarding in the widest sense – supporting clubs to be positive, inclusive and safe environments for everyone who comes through the door. The Welfare Leads will work with club committee members and volunteers, including the volunteers in sports clubs who have taken on the club welfare role.

We hope to advertise these two vacancies in the week commencing November 13 with a closing date of December 3. Details will be available on the Making our Move website and via our social media channels.

We will be looking for people with experience of safeguarding, and will be trying to promote these vacancies within education, social services, police, voluntary and community organisations as well as the sports sector etc. If you can help by sharing our social media posts within your networks, please do.

If these are roles that you might be interested in, go to our website for more information after November 13 or contact Naomi Bennett-Jones or James Cook for a chat. Click here for contact details.
