A new signposting resource has been developed to support people in Erewash to find ways to move that works for them.
Through All Move in Erewash, the aim is to develop a collective understanding of how to create a fairer experience of, and access to, moving every day for residents with a limiting illness, long term condition or disability that live independently.
A series of workshops have been held to gain a greater understanding of the different influences of physical activity behaviour, and hear from individuals about their personal experiences of living with different long-term health conditions, and how this can affect their ability to move more.
One of the needs identified so far was for signposting to available resources for those supporting people with a long term condition or disability. It is hoped the new All Move in Erewash guide will provide a useful starting point for professionals and individuals.
The resource includes key messages about physical activity for people living with long-term conditions, more details on Moving Medicine and support for professionals, and links to local, national and specialist tools and resources (including directories) to help people find the right activity for them.
The resource can be downloaded below.
In Erewash, 27,000 adults experience being inactive and almost 10,000 of these people have a limiting illness, longterm condition and/or disability.
