Nottinghamshire Violence Reduction Partnership are working in partnership with Ashfield District Council to offer support to Community voluntary sector organisations within the district.
The course is open to all within the district. However ,if you are an organisation that focuses, or would like to focus, on early intervention and reduction of violence in 18-to 24-year-olds then this course might be for you.

Course aims
- Those who are new to grants and applying for funding, this will primarily include smaller organisations and groups who are looking for grants of up to £20,000.
- Will introduce grant funding, helping you to research and find the right funders for your work, as well developing the case and evidencing the need for your activities and projects.
- Help you to understand what funders and grant-makers are looking for in your applications and bids, providing tips upon what to include and some of the pitfalls to avoid.
Trainer – James Kirkpatrick
The Training will be delivered by James Kirkpatrick from Funding Support who has over 25 years’ experience in grant-making and applying for grants. He currently assessors grant applications for Comic Relief and Armed Forces Covenant Trust Fund and has previously worked for the National Lottery Community Fund, BBC Children in Need and Boots Charitable Trust. James has also worked with a wide range of charities and community groups across the East Midlands helping them to develop funding strategies and plans, and to secure funding.
