We visited Derbyshire Refuge Solidarity recently who we’ve been partnering with to enable Refugees and Asylum Seekers to access a variety of physical activities, such as football, walking, swimming and music. Physical activity is an incredibly useful outlet for people to help bring a sense of normality and familiarity back into their lives. It can also help support the people to build relationships with other people and help to overcome much of the stress and trauma they may have experienced in their life.
We’re proud of our partnership with DRS and this work in helping enable people with multiple barriers to activity become more active in a way that works for them.
Watch our videos below to learn more about how the partnership has enabled a Programme of physical activity and an insight into what it might feel like to be a refugee in the UK.
