Derby Holiday Activities & Food (HAF) Programme Winter Engagement Grants

Active Derbyshire, Active Notts, Funding, News

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme supports families on a low income. The programme provides holiday clubs and nutritious food for children eligible for benefits related free school meals during the main school holidays.

As the programme comes to an end this winter, there is the opportunity to use a small pot of remaining funding to work with voluntary and community sector organisations across Derby to extend the reach of the HAF programme to new families. This grant pot has two streams:

Winter Family Fun Days

  • To provide a fun and engaging experience for all the family (parents / grandparents / carers and children) to enjoy over the winter holidays with suitable intergenerational activities / entertainment
  • To introduce new families / children to your centre or service
  • To provide a healthy hot meal for families to share.

Winter Youth Engagement Events

  • To provide a fun and engaging drop-in session for teenagers (aged 12 to 16) over the Christmas holidays with suitable activities / entertainment to attract young people
  • To introduce new young people to your centre or services
  • To provide a healthy hot meal

Organisations may apply to deliver events under both categories, or more than one event in either category, providing they are at different venues.

Applications close at 8am on 14 October 2024.
