Club Welfare Network Event – Nottingham Ice Centre

Active Notts, News, Sport Welfare Support

Last week Franky held her first Club Welfare Officer network event, which was conveniently held at Nottingham’s National Ice Centre, who were the perfect hosts, thanks so much for your support.

Listening to a number of clubs that Franky has visited, face to face events such as this were in demand, alongside forums that involved mixed sports.

Franky was happy to hear about the interest the clubs had in learning from others, which of course is best practice. There are always opportunities to improve the way we do things if you are receptive to it, and sometimes we have to explore what is outside of our ‘internal’ knowledge base.

The clubs that attended included Ice Hockey, Ice Skating, gymnastics, Athletics and Swimming. They valued the conversations around sharing practice, resources, ideas and thoughts. The second part of the event was to discuss a number of scenarios and work through how they would deal with each concern… again it was great to see some good advice and tangible solutions shared.

Franky particularly wanted to thank Ryan and Donna from the National Ice Arena https://national-ice-centre.com/ who were amazing and extremely supportive of the event.

We are hoping to link together again in the future so watch this space.
