South Derbyshire Locality Funding and Children and Young People Funding

Active Derbyshire, Funding, News

The South Derbyshire Health and Wellbeing Partnership, funded by Derbyshire County Council Public Health, are pleased to announce that there are two funding pots available to support health and wellbeing projects in South Derbyshire.

• Locality Funding
• Children and Young People

This funding will support the delivery of the South Derbyshire Healthier Communities Plan which aims to improve the health and wellbeing of local people, with specific focus on community-based health prevention and reducing the number of people who are at risk of and/or living with significant health inequalities.

Particularly interested in projects which support children and young people, carers, people living with a long-term condition and people who are digitally excluded.

Locality Funding:
Expressions of interest are invited for locality projects and initiatives that address one or more of the South Derbyshire Healthier Communities Plan key priority areas:

• Health inequalities between different communities are reduced by building community resilience.
• People are supported to move more and become more active in everyday life.
• People are supported to age well, including those living with dementia and other long-term conditions, and their carers.
• Improving emotional health and mental wellbeing.
• Enable children and young people to start well.

Typically, locality funded projects range in size from £5,000 – £10,000 but if your project falls outside this range, please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss further.

Children and Young People:
Expressions of interest are also invited for projects which support the emotional health and wellbeing of children and young people, which links to the priority ‘enabling children and young people to start well’.

£100,000 has been allocated to support projects that address this priority area. Projects can be of varying sizes to express an interest. Funding is available to support projects to deliver activities for up to 12 months. They hope to be able to support larger projects which will have a meaningful impact.

Expressions of interest are invited from not for profit groups/organisations including Charities, Trusts, Associations, Clubs, constituted community & voluntary groups, Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs), Parish Councils and Statutory Organisations.

The fund is open for expressions of interest until the 20th June 2024.
