Online Event: Sport England’s Movement Fund and Environmentally Sustainability

Climate change is already disrupting sports and physical activity across England. Extreme weather affects 60% of adults’ ability to be active, 25% of children miss PE lessons due to cancelled sessions, and 120,000 football games are lost annually. A quarter of pitches are unplayable for 2 months per year due to flooding.
However movement can also positively impact through active travel – walking, cycling or using public transport.
Why your organisation needs to act: Sports facilities face increasing operational challenges from extreme weather, rising energy costs, and environmental damage.
The Movement Fund may be able to support you to deal with some of these issues or if you want to take a proactive approach to environmental sustainability.
Join Jade Gresham (Strategic Lead) and Edwina Archer (Funding Lead) at Active Notts and Active Derbyshire, to learn more about how Sport England’s Movement Fund might start to address environmental sustainability.
