Inspiring and Growing Communities of Hope

Inspiring and Growing Communities of Hope – the loop:

Residents helping residents
Partners helping partners
Partners helping residents
Residents helping partners

I saw this in action today in Calverton –

Residents helping residents – Falls Prevention and Management participants arranging to meet up for monthly lunches, a birthday tea this Wednesday, going on a river cruise with an ex participant in June, driving each other to and from the exercise classes, supporting each other through cancer, bereavement, hip ops, life….
Partners helping partners – The Core Centre helping me to set up and take down the furniture (and giving me flowers, card and strawberries bless them) and inviting me along to their Health and Wellbeing event in Oct, I advertised the event and asked the participants to complete the feedback surveys, distributed EasyLink leaflets, discussed minibus offerings – linkage with Carlton Men in Sheds
Partners helping residents – putting on the exercise class, mobile phone clinic, Knit and Natter, art class, coronation tea, food pantry, walking group, sign language, outreach CAB etc etc etc
Residents helping partners – participating in a focus group for GBC Health and Wellbeing strategy, completing the survey for the Health and Wellbeing event and other feedback surveys for funding bids, helping The Core Centre to run, helping me to set up and take down the class furniture and equipment last week when we had our class at another location

And all very low key. Just happens. A little community of hope gradually growing, branching out, spreading hope….
