We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, passionate, and committed individual to join our Schools and Coaching department in the position of Community Coach. The successful candidate will be involved in delivering, planning, monitoring and promoting high quality sessions as part of our schools’ programmes, Holiday Courses, Weekend Club and Talent Identification Programme, predominantly coaching children aged 4-11. Key Responsibilities • Delivering, planning, monitoring and promoting a range of high quality community and school based programmes • Supporting primary school teachers with their delivery of PE and school sport • Mentoring and supporting apprentices, volunteers and work experience students according to the criteria set within their role • Ensuring that all groups within the local community are represented within the activity programme • Keep up to date and accurate records, including registers • To create and maintain links with schools representatives and other stakeholders • To be a positive role model to stakeholders, colleagues, children and young people by maintaining high standards of coaching, positive attitude and appropriate conduct • Continuously work to maintain, embed and improve the Trust’s safeguarding provision, ensuring the highest standards for safeguarding children and vulnerable adults Personal Characteristics and Experience Essential • FA UEFA C (Level 2) Coaching Football or equivalent • FA Safeguarding Children • FA Emergency First Aid • Full UK Driving License with access to vehicle • Experience delivering high quality sessions to children aged between 4 and 11 years • Experience working in an educational environment • Experience working with children and adults from under-represented groups • Working knowledge and experience delivering, or supporting the delivery of the PE National Curriculum • Previous experience working within a sport specific environment • Excellent time management and organisational skills • Committed to delivery consistently high standards • Good knowledge of age-appropriate coaching • A flexible approach and prepared to work unsociable hours Desirable • FUNdamentals training / multi-skills training • Other NGB Coaching qualifications • AfPE Level 3 / Level 5 • FA Mentoring Adults • Educated to degree level or equivalent • Knowledge of Derby County Community Trust’s work • Experience or knowledge of the Premier League Primary Stars programme • Experience working in a Community Trust setting This role is full time and includes weekend work on a Saturday morning.
